#11: Save the Cosplayer … Save the World!
Every morning in the 30 days leading up to WonderCon Anaheim 2014 (from March 19 to April 18), we’re going to offer our “Toucan Tip of the Day,” a tiny tidbit of terrific information that we hope add to your enjoyment of the show. To view all of our WCA 2014 Toucan Tips, please click on the “Tip of the Day” link under Categories at the top of our sidebar on the right; all published tips will appear, with the latest at the top.
WonderCon Anaheim always attracts a lot of cosplayers. It’s amazing to see the time and effort these people put into their incredible costumes and how much they get into delighting the convention crowd. And while you’re going to want to stop and take some photos, please remember these helpful suggestions:
• Try to take photos in the lobby or at our designated photo area in the back of the Exhibit Hall near the food concession area and lounge in Hall C. Stopping in the aisles to take photos of our costumed attendees creates huge “traffic jams” on the floor.
• While most cosplayers like to have their photos taken, always ask first for permission to take photos.
• Underneath all that makeup and costuming, cosplayers are people, too. Please use common courtesy when you interact with them, and treat them exactly like you yourself would want to be treated.
