The dog days of summer are coming to a close as we head into the last big holiday weekend of the summer of 2014. But we're still busy here at Comic-Con International, looking ahead to APE, the Alternative Press Expo, just one short month away in San Francisco, and looking back via photo galleries to that fond memory, Comic-Con 2014, now one month gone in the rear view mirror.
APE 2014 is moving ahead with badges now on sale for this wonderful comics show in an equally wonderful city, San Francisco, CA. The dates are October 4 & 5 in a new location, Fort Mason Center's Festival Pavilion, right on San Francisco Bay. Badges are only $15.00 for both days, or $10.00 for single days (Saturday or Sunday), but trust us: Get the both days badge NOW while you can for this great event. Click here to buy your badges online now and save money over the at-the-door prices (a big $5.00 per badge!)
For those of you interested in our Comic Creator Connection program, it returns to APE on Saturday, Oct. 4 for one day only. The CCC, as we fondly call it, teams up prospective writers and artists for short interviews to see if there's the possibility of collaboration. One of our more popular events at all three of our shows, the CCC fills up quickly, especially with writers looking for artists, so reserve a space now. Click here for complete info about the Comic Creator Connection.
More APE 2014 news is coming soon, including our official promotional art for this year's show (featuring amazing art by special guest Faith Erin Hicks), our exhibitor list and Exhibit Hall map, and the complete program and workshop schedule!
Comic-Con International 2014 is just a fond memory at this point, but we're still busy going through the thousands and thousands of photos taken by our team of photographers. We're gathering them together in daily photo galleries, and we're just about half-way there.
You can relive the show (or see it for the first time!) by visiting these galleries. So far we've posted three of them:
We have four more to go: Saturday and Sunday, plus galleries devoted to our Inkpot Award winners and, of course, the world famous Comic-Con International Masquerade, which celebrated its 40th anniversary this year. Look for them coming soon here on our website.
Happy Labor Day weekend, America ... we leave you with this one iconic image from our Friday Photo Gallery. The real power of the Thunder God was unleashed when this version of Thor joined the massive Marvel cosplay gathering on the rear steps of the San Diego Convention Center during Comic-Con Internatinal 2014.
