Comic-Con@Home SuperVolunteer Challenge
We issued a challenge to our daily and department volunteers registered for Comic-Con 2020 to find a non-profit organization in their community and spend some time volunteering there. Many of our dedicated volunteers accepted the challenge! By emailing us with a photo or two and a little bit about their experience, they earned a "SuperVolunteer" badge! These volunteers are highlighted in a Toucan blog series every Tuesday and Thursday leading up to Comic-Con@Home.
We are so proud of their efforts and know that Comic-Con volunteers are truly dedicated to making the world a better place. This page features a gallery of all the SuperVolunteers that have been highlighted so far!

Kaytee S. does a lot of volunteer activities for various organizations during the year, but most are on hiatus because of the pandemic. So, she's going out on her own to pick up trash in her neighborhood in San Diego. It's not glamorous (she says), but I bet her neighbors are extremely grateful to her. Way to go, Kaytee!!
Lauren_S_Minneapolis.jpg

Lauren S. helped the people of Minneapolis by collecting donations of goods for families that were affected by the recent unrest there. They filled 2.5 U-Hauls, 2 truck beds and van! That is impressive. She and her family also spent a day volunteering at the McKinley Rose Garden in Sacramento to honor her grandfather who loved roses. Awesome, Lauren!
Linda_A_1.jpeg

Linda A. would normally be rescuing animals from the street and taking care of them until she can find them a good home. But because of the pandemic she can't afford the vet bills right now. Her mom reminded her that she also goes out and does grocery shopping for her family and for two of her neighbors every two weeks. She has a cool cape that proves she is a Wonder Woman!
Maria_N_Family_1.jpg

Maria N., Beirut T., Andrea T. Fernando T. and Rebeca V usually take their vacation during Comic-Con so they can volunteer. This year all five of them volunteered at the San Diego Food Bank. They have done giveaways in Hall H, so doing 540 boxes of food was easy-peasy. They fed seniors around San Diego County and they plan to keep doing more. Yay! Love the volunteer shirts and Comic-Con@Home badges!!
