Press Badge Registration for Comic-Con Special Edition is OPEN!
 Outlet Key Contacts of pre-approved press outlets may now register for press badges. All press badge registrations must be completed by FRIDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2021. 

Due to continuing COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a limited number of press badges available for Comic-Con Special Edition. Only press outlets that are currently pre-approved are eligible to register for press badges. To check your eligibility, please log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account and select the “Press” tab. If you are eligible, your verification status will display “Verification NOT DUE - Approved” and you may register for badges. Only the Outlet Key Contact has access to this information in their Member ID account. 

Unfortunately we are unable to accept new or returning press outlets with a verification status of “DUE” at Comic-Con Special Edition. 

Please carefully read the information below as the press badge registration process has changed.


Outlet Key Contacts – of Pre-Approved Press Outlets Only:

  • Log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account.

  • Select the “Press” tab.

  • Click the blue “My Allotment” button to view your outlet’s badge allotment for Comic-Con Special Edition.

  • If you are registering yourself, click the yellow “Register” button and follow the instructions. 

  • To share the badge registration portal with your attending member(s), click the “Copy URL” button.

  • Share this URL with your outlet member(s) to complete their press badge registration. Your member(s) will need their Comic-Con Member ID, Last Name, and Press Title to complete the registration process. 

  • The Comic-Con Special Edition COVID-19 policy can be viewed here. Please advise your member(s) to not register for a press badge if they are unable or unwilling to meet the policy requirements.


  • Only share the URL of your outlet’s individual registration portal with those you have approved to attend the show on your outlet’s behalf. Press badge registration for your outlet will close once all of your outlet's allotted press badges have been registered. The registration portal URL is unique to your outlet alone. 

  • Once you have successfully completed the press badge registration process you will receive an order receipt email within 24 hours. Please check your SPAM inbox if you do not receive the order receipt.

  • As the convention approaches, we will send out a barcode confirmation email. Please be sure to bring the barcode confirmation email, not the order receipt email, to the Press Registration Area of the San Diego Convention Center to pick up your badge. Badge pick-up hours will be listed on the barcode confirmation email.

The deadline to register for a press badge is FRIDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2021. The press badge registration portal will close after this date and no additional requests may be accommodated.  

Names, outlets, titles, email addresses, and countries of registered press members will be made available to event participants prior to the convention (Comic-Con Special Edition Press List).

Need to update your Comic-Con Outlet ID information or change the Outlet Key Contact of a press outlet? Email for assistance. The new Outlet Key Contact must have their own valid and confirmed Comic-Con Member ID.
