Professional Verification Status

PROFESSIONAL VERIFICATION STATUS

To determine your professional verification status, log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account and select the "Professionals" tab. If you are a returning professional, your member class will be "Professional" and your professional verification status will be DUE or NOT DUE.

If your professional verification status is DUE, or if no professional verification status is displayed, you are not eligible to participate in Comic-Con Special Edition professional registration.

Once you have verified that you are eligible, please CLICK HERE for detailed instructions on how to register for your professional badge using our new registration system, hosted by Configio. We strongly encourage you to read all of the information available about the new registration system and waiting room.

If you intend to register a guest, please remember that all professional guests must have their own unique and confirmed Comic-Con Member ID. A Member ID is free and you only need to sign up once! We encourage you to have your guest sign up for a Member ID as soon as possible. You will not be able to register a guest without knowing their last name and Member ID.

Guest badges are limited and not all professionals may be able to bring a guest.

To receive emails from the professional registration department, please log in to your Member ID account and click the “OPT-OUTS” option on the “My Account” tab. Make sure you have not checked the “Email Opt-Out” box. If you have selected to opt out of email notifications from Comic-Con, you will not be notified of important registration updates.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

COMIC-CON AND WONDERCON ANAHEIM is pleased to provide complimentary badges to professionals who are active in the creation of comic books, graphic novels, digital/webcomics, comic strips, and animation, as well as genre-related illustrators and science fiction/fantasy authors and book editors. This includes writers, artists, pencillers, inkers, colorists, letterers, and animators. Qualifying work must be provided to indicate a professional’s involvement in these projects.

Due to the ever-increasing popularity of Comic-Con and pop culture industries, we cannot guarantee professional badges to those who fall outside of the creative roles listed above. However, all other professionals and executives who are employed in entertainment and popular culture industries (film, television, toy and apparel design, and other related industries) are welcome to apply, and we will consider each application on an individual basis. Not all professionals in these industries can be accommodated, and access to badges and guest badges may be limited.

As part of our commitment as an educational non-profit organization, Comic-Con and WonderCon welcomes educators and librarians to apply as professionals.

We are not currently accepting new or returning professional applications for Comic-Con Special Edition. For more information, check out our helpful Professional FAQ!

Comic-Con Special Edition Professional Terms and Conditions

There will be NO onsite registration. The only way to apply for a professional badge is to submit a "Comic-Con and WonderCon Anaheim Application for Professionals" and verification materials before the appropriate deadline date and be approved by Comic-Con International. Professionals must provide verification materials demonstrating their continued qualifying work in the industry every three years.

Professional badges and professional guest badges are limited and not all applicants who meet the guidelines can be accommodated. Professional verification and approval is ultimately at the discretion of Comic-Con International. Badges for both professionals and guests are limited in quantity and will reach capacity quickly. Additional details regarding professional guest registration will be released at a later date. All professional guests must have their own personal and confirmed Member ID. You may not register a guest unless they have their own Member ID.

Please keep in mind that a professional badge is a courtesy and is non-transferable. You may not transfer or sell your professional badge. If you are found in violation of this policy, Comic-Con reserves the right to revoke your badge and any associated guest badges. Duplicate badges of any type are not allowed.
