Comic-Con Professional Registration Frequently Asked Questions
Dear Professionals,
Thank you for your support and patience while we launch this new creative professional registration process. Due to the overwhelming demand for complimentary guest badges, the previous system was unable to function efficiently and some professionals received technical errors that caused them to miss out on guest badges. We hope to eliminate these issues with the new waiting room system. Below are some of the frequently asked questions we have been receiving from professionals.
Q: There have been too many emails and I’m confused! When is creative professional registration?
A: Creative professional registration will begin shortly after 10:00 AM Pacific Time on Friday, February 27, 2015. You must enter your registration code to access the Expo Logic waiting room prior to 10:00 AM PT to participate. We anticipate that complimentary guest badges will reach capacity within the first 20–30 minutes of registration.
Trade professional registration will happen at a later date. Please check your email frequently for updates if you are an approved trade professional.
Q: I don’t need a guest badge, do I have to bother with this waiting room process?
A: Absolutely not! If you are only planning to register a professional badge for yourself, simply SKIP the entire waiting room process and register for your badge anytime between 11:05 AM PT on February 27 to April 27, 2015. You will have two full months to go online and register for your guaranteed professional badge. To access the direct registration link, go to our Pro Registration Information page anytime after 11:05 AM PT on Friday, February 27 and click the designated link. You have until April 27 to register. Easy peasy!
Q: I want to bring a guest! What do I do?
A: If you need a guest badge for Comic-Con 2015, we encourage you to retrieve your registration code and enter it on the Expo Logic landing page prior to 10:00 AM PT February 27, 2015. The landing page will open for registration code entry at 9:00 AM PT. Your registration code and the link to the Expo Logic landing page have been sent to all verified professionals via email. If you did not receive this notification, please contact proreg@comic-con.org as soon as possible!
Q: So if I get into the waiting room first, am I guaranteed a complimentary guest badge?
A: No. Early arrival to the waiting room does not give you an advantage. Although the landing page will be open for registration code entry between 9:00 and 10:00 AM PT, it does not matter when you arrive. All professionals will be randomly selected for a registration session. You can arrive exactly at 9:00 AM or 9:55 AM and your chances are the same. Shortly after 10:00 AM all professionals in the waiting room will be randomly selected in groups for a registration session. Complimentary and paid guest badges will be available until they reach capacity.
Unfortunately, due to the volume of eligible professionals, admittance to the waiting room does not guarantee you a guest badge or a registration session. Not all professionals will be selected for a registration session before 11:00 AM PT.
Just remember, you must enter your registration code before 10:00 AM PT to participate!
Q: Wait a minute! You mean I can enter the waiting room at 9:00 AM sharp and not get anything at all?
A: No. All professionals are guaranteed their own professional badge for Comic-Con 2015. If you are not selected for a registration session, the waiting room will automatically close at 11:00 AM PT and after about five minutes your screen will refresh with a direct link to the professional badge registration system. At that time, you simply click the link and register for your own professional badge. There may also be paid professional guest badges available at this time, but we cannot predict buying patterns. Last year, paid professional guest badges never reached capacity.
Q: Your notice said that the complimentary and paid professional guest badges are “limited.” Does that mean I am limited to one of each?
A: By “limited”, we are referring to the overall number of complimentary and paid guest badges. All professionals are allowed to register for one complimentary guest and/or one paid guest, while supplies last. Please note that not everyone who wishes to register for a guest of professional badge will be able to obtain one during tomorrow’s registration event. There are far more interested professionals than guest badges available.
We anticipate that complimentary guest badges will reach capacity within the first half hour of registration. We cannot predict when paid guest badges will reach capacity. If you wish to register for any type of guest badge, we encourage you to join the waiting room prior to 10:00 AM PT.
