Comic-Con International 2015 Registration Update

Q: Where is my Registration Code? Did you email it to me?

A: Comic-Con did not email registration codes for Open Online Registration. To access your personal registration code, log in to your Member ID account and select the “Registration Info” tab. Your registration code will be displayed under “Registration Details.”

Q: I logged into my Member ID account, but it says I am not eligible for Open Online Registration. Why is that?

A: Only Comic-Con Member ID accounts that were created and confirmed prior to 2/13/15 at 2:30 PM Pacific Time are eligible to participate. Additionally, if you have already purchased a Comic-Con 2015 Preview Night option during attendee preregistration, you are not eligible for Open Online Registration and will not be issued a registration code.

Q: I am an approved creative professional and my Member ID account says I am eligible for Open Online Registration. Am I supposed to buy a badge this Saturday? Did I miss professional badge registration?

A: Do not worry, you have not missed professional badge registration! All creative professionals with a current status of “NOT DUE” will be guaranteed a Comic-Con 2015 badge during online professional registration at a later date. You do not need to participate in Open Online Registration on Saturday, February 21, 2015.

This guarantee does not extend to professional guest badges. Complimentary guest badges will be available in very limited quantities.

Q: I am eligible for Open Online Registration and want to purchase a badge for my spouse, but they did not sign up for a Member ID. Can I purchase a badge for them during my registration session?

A: No. Each individual you are buying for must be eligible to participate and they must have their own confirmed Comic-Con Member ID account that was created prior to February 13, 2015 at 2:30 PM PST.

Q: I am buying badges for my friends. Can we each use our own credit card for purchase? Do you accept PayPal or debit cards?

A: Comic-Con accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express only. If your debit card has a Visa or MasterCard logo, you will be able to use it for purchase.

We're sorry, but we cannot accept PayPal or payments using multiple credit cards. You may only use one credit card for payment during your registration session.

Q: My friend is out of town and asked me to purchase his badge when I buy mine. How do I do that?

A: All you need to purchase a badge for someone else is their Member ID and last name. Please keep in mind that they must be eligible to participate. If you are selected from the waiting room for a registration session, you will be prompted to select the number of attendees you are buying for: 1, 2, or 3. On the following page, simply enter your friend’s Member ID and LAST NAME (not password) and select from the available badge options. Your friend will receive their own email barcode confirmation within 72 hours of purchase.  

 Q: Can I share my registration code with a friend?

A: We certainly wouldn’t recommend doing that. A registration code may only be redeemed for one entry into the waiting room. Whoever uses the registration code last, will be the only person allowed to enter.

This means that if you enter your registration code and gain access to the waiting room, and then you give your registration code to a friend and they enter it to gain access, your session will expire and you will be kicked out of the waiting room.  Your friend’s device and browser will be authorized and you will be left out in the cold. Just don’t risk it!

Q: My husband and I have our own registration codes and laptops, but share the same IP address. Does this mean only one of us can enter the waiting room?

A: No. You may use multiple computers or devices from the same IP address. If we restrict entry to a unique IP address, those at libraries, office buildings, universities, and dorms could potentially be shut out of the sale.

Q: My son is currently 17 but will be 18 by July 8, 2015. Does he need to purchase an adult or junior badge?

A: Your son can attend Comic-Con 2015 as a junior. Your Member Type (adult, junior, senior) is determined by your age on the date you purchase your badge.

Q: How do I update my Membership Type if the Member ID system is closed and I'm participating in Open Online Registration?

A: If you are selected for a registration session on Saturday, please purchase your badge(s) at the price displayed for your current Membership Type. Following your purchase, contact Comic-Con so we can assist you further. You can use the “Contact Us” feature once you have logged in to your Member ID account.

Q: I have an appointment at 10:00 AM PT on Saturday, February 21. Will you show my number in line in the waiting room so I can quit the sale if I have no chance at getting a badge?

A: Unfortunately we are unable to show your place in line because there is no virtual “line.” The “line” was removed when we went to the random selection process. Members are randomly selected for their registration sessions. Entry to the waiting room does not guarantee that you will get a badge or be selected for a registration session. We anticipate that all badges will be sold out in about an hour, so please plan accordingly.

Q: What time do I need to enter the waiting room? Is it 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM Pacific Time (PT)?

A: The Expo Logic landing page will open at 8:00 AM PT for registration code entry. However, you do not need to arrive at 8:00 AM to participate. Sleep in! Take your time! Make a hot pot of coffee! You do not need to arrive to the waiting room until about 10 – 15 minutes prior to 9:00 AM PT. Arriving early to the waiting room does not give you an advantage, so save yourself the wait and arrive shortly before 9:00 AM.

That said, please keep in mind that the waiting room will close for entry at 9:00 AM PT. You must arrive prior to 9:00 AM to participate in Open Online Registration.

Q: If I am unable to purchase a Comic-Con badge on Saturday, will there be another sale later this year?

A: Like last year, we do not anticipate that there will be a sale of returned badges at a later date.
