Comic-Con Volunteers are real life heroes who are an important part of our show. Volunteering for Comic-Con is a great way to see the show for free by doing a simple three-hour per day assignment. The day you volunteer is the day you get in for free. All volunteers who complete at least one assignment will get the not-available-in-any-store, very poular volunteer t-shirt. Space is limited. It's amazing that we've sold out of four-day memberships before even announcing our 2010 Special Guest list. But past attendees know the kind of amazing guests that we bring to our show year-after-year, and 2010 is no exception! Advance Hotel Info for Comic-Con 2010

IMPORTANT: Comic-Con 2010 Hotel registration is NOT YET OPEN! It will open on March 18, 2010 at 9am PST (12pm NOON EST). Now that we've made that perfectly clear...we've posted a list of our hotels with rates, smoking info, distance to the Convention Center, and whether or not the hotel is serviced by our popular Comic-Con Shuttle routes (free to members). This info is available in a downloadable pdf from our site. In addition, there are some VERY IMPORTANT changes to how hotel reservations will be handled this year. Please read our hotels page completely to make sure you understand how it is going to work when we open reservations in March.

Stan Lee Gets Icon Award and a Comic-Con 2010 Special Guest

Where were you on October 27th? Were your spider senses tingling? That might be because our 4th Icon Award was given to Stan "The Man" Lee by SpiderMan himself, Toby Maguire, at the 4th annual Spike Scream Awards (actually, it was awarded earlier, it just aired on the 10/27). You can read more about the Icon Award and Stan on our site. Oh, and did we mention that Stan is one of our Special Guests in 2010? 'Nuff said.

Eisner Awards Now Accepting Submissions for 2010

Comic-Con International, the largest comic book and popular arts event in the United States, announced today that submissions are now being accepted for consideration by the judges for the 2010 Will Eisner Comics Industry Awards. Publishers wanting to submit entries should send one copy each of the comics or books they wish to nominate and include a cover letter indicating what is being submitted and in what categories. CCI-IFF 2010 Film Festival Submissions Now Open

The 2010 Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival (CCI-IFF) is now open to submissions. The deadline for submitting films is March 15, 2010. All film submissions must be be accompanied by the official entry form and postmarked between Dec. 1, 2009 and March 15, 2010. The official rules and entry form are now available on our site.

In Memoriam - Ken Krueger

Comic-Con has lost another member of its founding family. Ken Krueger was instrumental in getting the show off the ground and keeping it going in its first few years. He served as chairman of the first Comic-Con in 1970. Learn more about Ken Krueger on our site.

Judges Named for 2010 Eisner Awards

In Memoriam - Shel Dorf

Shel Dorf's love of comic books and their creators had no equal. It was his appreciation of this art form and his keen foresight that helped to create what is Comic-Con. It is with a heavy heart that we -- the Board of Directors, Committee, Staff and Volunteers of Comic-Con -- mourn the passing or our dear friend Shel. Attendee Preview Night Memberships are Sold Out

Because of the increasing number of attendees on Preview Night each year, we have decided to limit attendance for Preview Night in 2010. It is impossible to accommodate every person who registers for a four-day badge on Preview Night, so we made available four-day memberships with and without the Preview Night option. While no more Preview Night badges are currently available, regular four-day memberships are still available.
